Pediatric Associates of Austin-Physicians
Juliette Howes Owens, M.D.

Dr. Owens was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, while her father, also a pediatrician, was in residency there. She subsequently grew up in Lafayette, Louisiana and moved to Texas in high school where she attended the Texas Academy of Math and Science at the University of North Texas. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Texas at Dallas. Dr. Owens received her M.D. from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans.
Dr. Owens then moved to San Diego, California where she completed her pediatric residency at the University of California at San Diego and served as chief resident in 2003-2004. She then moved to Austin where she has worked with the Pediatrix neonatology group at Seton Medical Center, Seton Northwest and Brackenridge for three years. During that time, Dr. Owens has enjoyed taking care of well and sick newborns (and their worried parents!). She has also served on the Perinatal Council at Seton Medical Center.
Dr. Owens is board-certified in pediatrics and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is also a member of the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine. Her professional interests include breastfeeding, nutrition, sports and exercise as well as developmental concerns. She regularly volunteers at Austin's Volunteer Healthcare Clinic.
When at home with her two boys and her husband Stephen, she loves listening to live music, digging in the dirt and getting muddy, camping, and being creative in the kitchen! She also occasionally tinkers in the stock market.
